Flock, the Web 2.0 Browser?
escay writes "Cardinal, the Beta 1 version of Firefox-based browser Flock, was released Tuesday with many polished features. Some of the features include drag-and-drop photo uploading for Flickr and Photobucket, an in-built RSS aggregator, direct blogging tool, and shared favorites/bookmarks. In step with Web 2.0 philosophy, Flock provides a rich user-centric experience, making it easier to bring information to the user and vice versa. It is available for Linux/Mac/Windows, and you can download it here. (And for those of you trying to get Flash working in Firefox on an AMD64 Linux machine, try this and be pleasantly surprised!)"
All but one. We'll let you figure out which one on your own.
Regards,
Andrew Schlesykyev, Flock head programmer
Another kick to Micro$oft's M$N search... I checked out the default search engines you can use with Flock and theres no M$N. I like that.

Most people have this thing called a "filter." Without being too ironic, I think I can safely say that you do not have one. Please stop trying to do whatever it is you're trying to do.
Thank you.

I find this kind of writing everywhere on the net. But why, why, why on Slashdot? Spare me from non-meaning phrases like "user-centric experience". And would that mean that the regular Firefox provides a machine-centric experience?
Excuse me while I barf. God, but I hate yuppiespeak!
"Favorites?" The only browser that calls bookmarks "favorites" is Microsoft. "Enrich users' online experience" sounds like Microsoft yuppiemarketspeak as well.
Like I can't browse to those sites NOW with Firefox? I can't upload content with Firefox?
Er, since this is slashdot... and come to think of it, Digg???
I get it, this is a browser for children!

for a slashdot user you sure are a luddite. come on people, Flash + Flex are full-fledged IDEs. what other program can you use to create animations and applications in one fell swoop? and what the hell is wrong with a little animation? it would be a f*cking boring world if nothing ever moved and no stories were told.
Hardly.
Give me a browser optimized for technologies like AJAX, ASP, and javascript and *then* talk to me about a browser built for Web 2.0
This is just firefox with a bunch of pre-installed (unremoveavle) extensions.
It's a joke. And you can bet some jackass is laughing it off all the way to the bank.
