The Rise and Fall of Corba
ChelleChelle writes "Chief scientist of ZeroC, Michi Henning, has an interesting look at the story behind CORBA a once-promising distributed computing technology. Henning provides more than a brief history, in addition to several reasons pinpointing why CORBA fell short, focusing specifically on the OMG's technology adoption process itself. Most interesting is the final discussion on what we can learn from CORBA's decline, particularly in reference to web services."
Corba Kai was never the same afterwards.
This article completly glosses over the contribution of G.I. Joe to CORBA's downfall.

Because Knowing Is Half The #*&@ Battle.
Since Slashdot is a community notorious for its teeming hordes of criminal freeloaders, I thought I'd ask. I'm having trouble finding a WORKING torrent of Thom Yorke's "The Eraser." All peers and no seeds. Firstly, why is this? And secondly, anyone know where to steal the album (without paying one red pence to the evil recording industry, the evil Steve Jobs, or the oh-so-rich-yet-oh-so-indie Mr. Yorke, natch)? Thanks.
cobra kai's failures were summed up by one crane kick by daniel larusso. that kid is something else.
I do not accept czechs.
Where almost no one can see it, lies a big bunch of corba code. The only problem is that the guys reinvented partt of the wheel, so is only 90% corba.....
So long for the memories
