August 2nd Release For Street Fighter II

Gamasutra reports that Microsoft has announced Xbox Live Wednesdays, a soon-to-be weekly release of content to Xbox Live. They have a listing of the next few weeks worth of content, and happily Street Fighter II Hyper Fighting is slated for August 2nd. Frogger will be coming out tomorrow, July 12th, with Cloning Clyde due next week, Galaga the week after that, and Pac-Man expected on August 9th. From the article: "Xbox Live Arcade's Frogger has been enhanced for the Xbox 360, and features new, enhanced artwork that matches and complements the original style. In addition, according to Microsoft, the game's audio, including sound effects and music, has been modernized to sound crisp and clear on today's high performance sound systems." While these releases have mostly been seen as filler for the 360's very uneventful summer schedule, I can't complain too much about the chance to play Street Fighter II again. I'll be playing Chun Li; Who is your character?

So I can sell this game after I'm done with it, just like I did with Street Fighter II for SNES, right?

    Oh. I see. DRM. No.

This is why I'm only buying Nintendo.

No wonder the 360 is the worst selling console in over a decade.

1.7 million in the US, 100k or so in Japan, and less than a million in Europe.

Nothing worth playing, insane defect rate, and 200 bucks you have to spend over the next four years just to be allowed to play games online.

PS3,Wii,PC gaming and the 360 left without a chair when the music stops...

    400?

You're just getting started with a 360 at 400 dollars.

You then need to add 50 dollars to sign up for the online service every year. Make that 50x4 years, so add on another 200 bucks.
You then need an extended warranty for 50 bucks or so. You face riducule by other 360 owners if you pass up that protection for when your 360 starts showing the inevitable red lights of death.
If you missed the extended warranty you are looking at 150 bucks from Microsoft for when your 360 gets the red lights of death.
And then you move on to the 'we're not going to lose 5 billion dollars again' prices for 360 accessories...

A 360 owner is looking at spending in the 700 to 800 dollar range before they buy their first game.

    Yeech!
