Nintendo's Next-Gen Arsenal

Much of the coverage of the next-gen skirmish so far has focused on Sony and Microsoft. The already-impressive Xbox Live vs. the PS3. Just the same, for the first time in many years Nintendo is definitely in the running for top spot. About.com has a piece looking at what the big N is bringing to the next-gen party this November. From the article: "While Nintendo is trend setting with controllers like the Wiimote and, to a lesser extent, the nunchaku dongle, other companies will be following along. Nintendo's game plan from the genesis of the Wii has been touch and gamer-friendly games. They see the future of gaming in the Wiimote. Everyone else, at this point, seems to be just catching up."

  1. My Friend Is Working On A Wii Game by Anonymous Coward · · Score: -1, Troll

One of my friends is currently working on a Wii game. I remember him being really excited about the system earlier this year and he was eager to get off the 360 game he was on and move on to something that is going to be fun and sell. What is strange is now that he has been doing Wii stuff for a while I asked him about a month ago how things were going and was he loving the Wii. His response was "eh..." Sounds like from his experience the Wii controller gets old pretty quickly. It doesn't even sound like he is planning on buying the system, or at least not this year.

  2. Anatomy of a Nintendo Fanboy by Anonymous Coward · · Score: -1, Troll

So mods, for those of you just joining us, the post above is a good example of what's called a "fanboy"

"A controller, no matter how fantastic, isn't a lot of fun by itself. "

Whoops, the Nintendo fanboy slams the Wii!

"Takes some close reading to catch something like that, but be aware of that eerie familiar feeling."

Good to see the Nintendo defense forces are so vigilant. After all it is unheard of for a console to not match the hype from it makers. Clearly the Nintendo Wii can't possibly not live up to its hype. Anyone who doesn't agree is obviously a troll...

"relatively few teams currently working on games for it"

    Uhh, wrong.

Anyway, thanks for moderating and good luck.

What's so funny about the over the top Nintendo fanboy response was it wasn't even on a post slamming the Wii...

How many does it want? 100000000? Well I will keep typing this. I am still typing it. I am trying to get it the characters/line ratio correct.
