Cheyenne Mountain Shutting Down

WilliamSChips writes "The United States military has announced that they are shutting down the facility at Cheyenne Mountain, home to the high-tech NORAD which tracks every object in the sky. NORAD's operations will be moved to the nearby Peterson Air Force base. The mountain facility is being placed on standby in case they need it again." From the article: "The Cheyenne Mountain center, at the eastern foot of the Rockies near the base of Pikes Peak, was constructed underground in the mid-1960s. Fearing nuclear attacks at the time, the United States built sites such as the Cheyenne Mountain complex. The Navy prepared a floating White House aboard the communications cruiser USS Northampton, in case the president needed to be evacuated from U.S. soil. Another protective bunker was created near White Sulphur Springs, W.Va., for members of Congress."

You have nothing to fear from states like North Korea, Iraq or Iran as long as you don't try to meddle with their politics or development activities.
The USA is hardly in a position to condemn anyone for weapons development. Remember that the only country that ever used an atomic weapon against another country, is the USA. And it was for a doubtful purpose. So, anyone who fears that another country will lob a nuke, should (looking at history) most fear the USA.

Ah. So, the only country we have to fear when it comes to starting an conflict that required the use of two small nukes to greatly reduce the loss of life it would otherwise have required to end the conflict is... Japan? I mean looking at history, we'd better be expecting them to once again try to take over the entire Pacific Rim, attempt to disable the US Navy, and run giant rape camps, right?

Or, is it possible, Mr. A. Coward, that you know you're a trolling idiot, and actually do understand that the leadership in Iraq is working hard to acquire nukes, and regularly makes speeches that mention little pleasantries like removing other countries from the face of the earth?

Good little troll, enjoy your snack.

Does this mean next time they want to pull a 9/11 move, it will be easier or harder? These criminals need to go to jail. I don't think we should be shutting down our sky coordination system under the current regime. Is regime the right word for when there isn't a valid election?
