Hezbollah Hacked Israeli Military Radio
florescent_beige writes, "Newsday is reporting that Hezbollah was able to monitor secure Israeli military communications, perhaps using technology supplied by Iran, during the recent Lebanon war. A former Israeli general, speaking anonymously, called the results 'disastrous' for Israel. The story reports that an anonymous Lebanese source said that Hezbollah might have taken advantage of Israeli soldiers' mistakes in following secure radio procedures. The radio gear uses frequency hopping and encryption." The article identifies the Israeli communications equipment as the US-designed Single Channel Ground and Airborne Radio System.
Nothing really happened. Nothing was hacked or cracked. It's simply just yet another grab for more power and funding, based on gool ol' FUD.

Hizbollah had missles so piss poor that 4000 missiles only killed less than 50 people. They had AK47s against F16s. Israel lost because America woke up and realized that the cluster bombs they were shipping to Israel were intended to kill large numbers of civilians. To commit genocide, to protect the rear end of the Israeli army as they pressed forward.
As soon as they lost the secrecy they lost the war.
It doesn't take an encrypted radio message to order an F16 to cluster bomb a town, you just tell the pilot and he goes off and does it.
I wonder why Hezbollah needs to crack Israeli radio channel. The UN keep them updated about Israeli positions and movements at anytime during the conflict. The UN is a greater danger to the West than terrorists.
Yeah, that's the thing. Relying on those tactics is relying upon your opponent's sense of mercy, which is something they may find lacking if they "succeed" and a nuclear weapon goes off in in US soil. Of course, the irony is that if roles were reversed, you can be sure that the Islamists wouldn't hesitate to exterminate any of us infidels in the West.

They even condemned Israel for using cluster bombs outside their agreed use.

"While international bodies are looking into the use of cluster bombs by Israel during the Lebanon war, an effort in the US Senate to curb the use of these munitions was defeated Wednesday by a 70 to 30 vote.
The initiative to prohibit the use and sale of cluster bombs by the US was put forward by Democratic Senators Dianne Feinstein of California and Patrick Leahy from Vermont. They attempted to attach a provision to the Pentagon budget, which would require the US, and the countries that it sells arms to, including Israel, to avoid using cluster bombs "in or near" civilian areas. According to the suggestion, the Pentagon would have to freeze all use or sale of cluster bombs until new rules are put in place regarding the use of these munitions in civilian areas. "
