Some PS3 Games to Cost $75 in Japan
Gamasutra reports on pricing for PS3 games in Japan, where some titles may rise as high as (equivalently) $75. From the article: "Japanese game prices can vary considerably across even a single format, depending on the title. Higher profile games, such as the recent Nintendo DS title Final Fantasy III, are often sold at an increased price. Similarly, Xbox 360 titles Dead Rising and Lost Planet will be priced at ¥8,379 ($72) when they are released — ¥1,000 to ¥2,000 ($9 to $17) more than usual. Tecmo's Dead or Alive Xtreme 2 will be sold at an even more excessive ¥9,240 ($79)."
Come on guys, just make a Sony section on Slashdot, seperate from games. This way those of us tired of the fud can go on to discussing actual gaming.
God-damn, people here are ignorant as shit, somebody talks about the rising price in games and all of a sudden people start talking about getting ripped off, do you fuckers evern think for one second that the REAL reason why prices are increasing is because of developmental costs to companies creating games for each system. It costs a shit-ton more to develop on a XBOX 360 than PS1 and a WII, just as it is more expensive to develop for a Wii than a PS1 or XBOX. As gamers and the industry wants better graphics, more detail, better story, better voice acting, better environmental interaction, this all costs MONEY. So, the cost of creating a game is consistently rising, I so fucking sick and tired of these Wii fanboys or the 360 fanboys or the PS3 fanboys complaining about how games are so expensive for the opposing system, get it through your fucking thick ass skulls, ALL GAMES ARE BECOMMING EXPENSIVE, WHAT DO YOU HONESTLY THINK THAT THE LASEST AND GREATEST GAME WILL RETAIL BELOW WHAT IT COSTS TO MAKE. Jesus, how about you assholes stop complaining and accept the fact that games are becomming expensive and you have two options, BUY OR DON'T BUY.
