Fluendo is a company setup to develop Gstreamer. They are doing deals with lots some mobile phone makers, and such, to include Gstreamer... they are also heavily committed to bringing the wonders of DRM to the GNOME desktop. They are including Sun's DReaM system, and are building support for protected media paths into Gstreamer... and into the Linux kernel... and building their DRM system around the concept of a locked-down "signed" kernel and packages which cannot be modifed by the owner. Essentially, they are stealing the gstreamer code from the community and making it defacto proprietary.

Funny... a Christian Schaller, one of the Fluendo thieves, used to write essays about how people should use the term Free software, rather than Open Source. Look it up on google for a laugh... the hypocrite.
