Internet Only 1% Porn

Eli Gottlieb writes "In what surely comes as a complete and utter surprise to everyone here, a new calculation shows that only one percent of web pages contain pornography. While the calculations were performed using data forced from Google's and Microsoft's search indices by the government, they will help the American Civil Liberties Union to keep enforcement of the Children's Online Protection Act of 1998 banned. A loss for business privacy has become a victory for free speech, even though netizens lose a beloved old proverb."

Hey, why did this get ranked Overrated? The guy/gal/spacemonster? knows how to make a FUNNY pro-Bush joke. Or at the very least a funny anti-Bush-basher joke. I do believe that George Bush using The Google, and hearing rumours on the Internets, has helped companies to realize they need to improve their Tubes to better accommodate all Slashdotters and Internets users. The Internet is composed of a significant level of Bush jokes, so without him, Porn might otherwise still be the driving force behind the non-truck Internets.

I think it's safe to say that pornography exploits to a much greater degree than a desk job. Pornography steals a woman's innocence, degrades her in the eyes of millions and herself. It impairs the ability to form intimate relationships (just as with any promiscuous individual). Think of her children on the playground, "Your mommy is a slut!" or "You're a bastard!"
