Child's Play Tops $1 Million

ack154 writes "According to today's update to their website, the Child's Play charity has passed the $1 million mark. The final tally is listed at $1,024,400 — more than $400k over last year's total! The final update from their site reads: 'You guys did it. You broke a million dollars in just over two months. Child's Play started as a way to show how good our community can be, but it's turned into something greater than we could have ever imagined. We're making an impact on lives. See you next year.'"

And what could be more fitting than a final total that includes the number '1024'? Truely, this is the greatest achivement of gamers and geeks everywhere! Hats off all around to Childplay and Penny Arcade!

We need to hear about the conscience-easing efforts of a few dedicated sociopaths who are leading our nation's youth on the path to video destruction?

See you next year? Does that mean they are taking 2008 off? I think we should give this year too!

more money. People are more likely to donate to a local hospital, its just something they can attach to more, ya know? So if there isn't a single hospital in your state on Child Play's map, head on down to the nearest one and help spread the word. And even if there, if it is not very close by, find the closest hospital and tell THEM. If you tell them now, they will more than likely be ready for 2007's fundraising.

When I was young, my even younger sister was dying of cancer. We didn't have fancy video games at that time, but we had TONS of donated board games, and they made all the difference. They didn't only make times easier on my sister, but they made my last days with her happier and allowed us to spend quality time together even if we were in such a dreary place.
