Halo 3 Confirmed for Fall 2007
The folks at Bungie share the news, via their weekly update, that Halo 3 will be coming out this fall. Not surprising, but still good to hear. The game's marketing campaign will soon be kicking into gear, and the site offers the first 'iconic' image they'll be using on billboards and bus stops. The update also includes a few words on the Crackdown/Beta offering (sometimes later this spring), and an update on where they are with Halo itself.

Microsoft is charging 360 owners 50 dollars a year just for the privilege of playing games online. That is 200-250 dollars you are adding to the price of the console. Just to play Halo 3 online over the next few years you are having to pay 500-650 dollars to Microsoft for you 360. A complete ripoff considering:
No dedicated servers for 360 games
Pitiful number of players - 16 max for Halo 3 - WTF?
Lag, lag, lag
What's even worse is Halo 3 looks like a fucking Xbox games. It is pathetic that Bungie is still trying to pedal that stupid green metal effect. It's fucking 2007 no one is impressed anymore!
The only thing that will save Halo 3 is there is absolutely nothing else to buy on the 360. Microsoft is going to have to fork over some huge money hats to reviewers like they did with Halo 2 and Gears of War to avoid getting laughed at by the gaming press.
