Ballmer Repeats Threats Against Linux
daria42 writes "Steve Ballmer has reissued Microsoft's patent threat against Linux, warning open-source vendors that they must respect his company's intellectual property. In a no-nonsense presentation to New York financial analysts last week, Microsoft's chief executive said the company's partnership with Novell, which it signed in November 2006, "demonstrated clearly the value of intellectual property, even in the open-source world.""
I hate to have to be the one who breaks this news to you, but I feel obligated to do it:
What you think about software patents doesn't matter.
What you 'call' doesn't matter.
Indeed, anyone who uses the phrase "I call FUD" isn't going to be paid any attention by someone who matters. So put down the peanut butter and marshmallow sandwich your mom made you and back away from the computer. Let the adults have their time.
I'd love to read your obituary.
