Google Deletes Rogue Ads, Dangers Persist
An anonymous reader writes passed us a link to a PC World article about attempts by Google to curb malicious ads via their popular service. The article is somewhat bleak, though, because researchers see the fix as nothing more than temporary. "'Search engines are just too easy a target for bad guys,' says Roger Thompson of Exploit Security Labs. On April 25, Exploit Prevention Labs reported that malware distributors were using advertisements placed via Google's automated AdWords system to infect unsuspecting end-users with spyware designed to capture bank login user names and passwords."
Well until linux can support this feature it simply cannot
prevail on the desktop. This is another area where the superior interopoerability of Windows exceeds the capability of linux.
What's worse, do you realize that there are people running a mail reader called pine which does not even support the automatic execution of executable code they receive in emails? The Savages!!! Thank you Bill Gates for making the user experience of Windows user so much richer than that of their poor, un-enlightened unix^H^H^H^Hlinux counterparts.
All Hail Bill!
Oh, is that another martooni?

This would not be a problem if the dominant coercive monopoly platform was not such a security dissaster. Windows is easy to break and hard to fix and will be as long as it's not free software.
DMCA, Hollings, Palladium. What might have sounded like paranoia is now common sense.

Hi twitter. Are you done shilling your own posts and replying to yourself because you get modded down?
Why is this offtopic? There's more to web surfing than IE+Windows
"Thanks for all the money you paid to us. We've used it to buy off ISO among other things" -Microsoft
I bet if a Warrior or Priest put up an ad it'd be perfectly fine. Everyone loves tanks and healers.
Come on, Google! It's hard enough for a rogue to find a good party.
