Writing Open Source Documentation?
An anonymous reader asks: "I'm an Open Source guy that runs Linux, and suggests Firefox and OpenOffice to friends. Now, I'd like to give back, but the problem is that I'm not a coder. So, how do I go about writing documentation, and what kind of projects should I look into? What are some stellar examples?"
1) Find a project you're interested in
2) Find the mailing list for the project (for larger projects the documentation mailing list if it exists)
3) Introduce yourself
4) People there should help you get going
FWIW, the GNOME project is screaming out for more people to work on documentation (as I'm sure every project is)
