Obama Requests Creative Commons for Presidential Debates

Presidential hopeful Barack Obama recently submitted a letter to the DNC asking for the Presidential debates to be licensed under the Creative Commons. This move would give everyone the freedom to share, recut, and edit the debates as they wish. "I am a strong believer in the importance of copyright, especially in a digital age. But there is no reason that this particular class of content needs the protection. We have incentive enough to debate. The networks have incentive enough to broadcast those debates. Rather than restricting the product of those debates, we should instead make sure that our democracy and citizens have the chance to benefit from them in all the ways that technology makes possible."

Do niggers do anything else? I don't need to be told they do that, I'm _waiting_ for that!

And since he's been in office I'm glad I did. I had been a supporter earlier in his campaign, until I walked past his campaign HQ, which was right next door to Recycled Records. When I looked in, I saw a sea of black.

Not one white face, not one Asian face, not one Hispanic face. Every single person there was African American, without one single exception. I was astounded - even some of the Republican rednecks we have here who are almost openly racist have diverse staffs and visitors.

But I could no more vote for him than a black man could vote for him if the black man had looked in and seen nothing but a sea of white (Obama's mom is white, dad black). I'm not going to vote for a man who is not going to represent me. Had I seen a single pair of blue eyes I would have voted for him.

I was glad I voted against him when he voted for bankrupcy "reform". This "reform" was shoveled through by the banks shortly after my divorce and medical bills forced my bankrupcy, so it was personal. I got through in the nick of time; this "reform" is undoubtedly hurting a lot of the very people who voted for Obama.

The bankers have him in their pockets. I plan on voting in the Democratic primary this election so I can vote against both him and Hillary. Her old man put her in charge of giving us national health care like the civilized world has, and she came up with such a byzantine system it was shot down. I vote against mediocracy.

What the hell, I'll probably vote Green or Libertarian in the General Election anyway. Both major parties are pwned by the mostly foreign owned multinational corporations.

Shit, I forgot what the topic was. Sorry for the rant. Very unSpringfieldian of me. Here in Springfield, 1/3 of the way between St Louis and Chicago, when you're in a bar you can talk politics, religion, sex, or anything except baseball. Talking baseball can result in a bar fight.

ps- even more ot but following the above thought, there is only one group of people who can get the Cubs into the world series, and that's you cub fans. Stop supporting those losers and management, who is only in it for the money, will have to field a good team. So long as you dimwits keep showing up at games and watching them on TV and buying tshirts there is no incentive for management to field a non-loser team.

I used to be a Cardinal fan until the strike/lockout cancelled the world series. Now I don't even watch baseball. Fuck those corporate whores.

Oh yeah, THAT was the subject - Obama is a corporate whore in bed with the foreign bankers, Sony, Universal, Crysler, BP, Shell...

This is something NO-ONE with a brain would stay behind: A presidential candidate willing to give you a license to use his speeches in commentaries. Are you blind and deaf? This man is actually saying that in order to write/report about a political speech you need a copyright license! Why on earth there is need for such a statement in a supposely free nation? Are you americans all eager and happy to be stripped of all liberties and civil rights and back such a statement? You don't need to get a CC license for the right to press. Please now flag this ad flamebait, I have to say this: IDIOTS.
