EFF and Dvorak Blame the Digg Revolt On Lawyers

enharmonix writes "A bit of an update on the recent Digg revolt over AACS. The NYTimes has taken notice and written quite a decent article that actually acknowledges that the take-down notices amount to censorship and documents instances of the infamous key appearing in purely expressive form. I was pleased to see the similarity to 2600 and deCSS was not lost on the Times either. More interesting is that the EFF's Fred von Lohmann blames the digg revolt on lawyers. And in an opinion piece, John Dvorak expands on that theme."

It is official, Netcraft confirms: Digg is dying

One more crippling bombshell hit the already beleaguered Slashdot-Wannabe Digg community when IDC confirmed that Digg market share has dropped yet again, now down to less than a fraction of 1 percent of all IT-related news websites. Coming on the heels of a recent Netcraft survey which plainly states that Digg has lost more market share, this news serves to reinforce what we've known all along. Digg is collapsing in complete disarray.

You don't need to be a rocket scientist to predict Digg's future. The hand writing is on the wall: Digg faces a bleak future. In fact there won't be any future at all for Digg because Digg is dying. Things are looking very bad for Digg. As many of us are already aware, Digg continues to lose market share. Red ink flows like a river of blood.

Digg has lost 93% of its core readership. All major surveys show that Digg has steadily declined in market share. Digg is very sick and its long term survival prospects are very dim. If Digg is to survive at all it will be among ex-Slashdot dilettante dabblers. Digg continues to decay. Nothing short of a miracle could save it at this point in time. For all practical purposes, Digg is dead.

    Fact: Digg is dying

What's your obsession with *? "Digg" not "D*GG"

    Seriously, wtf?
