PC World 's Best 100 Products of 2007

javipas writes "The popular PC World magazine has published its annual list of the 100 best products of the year, with a few surprises on it. Google Apps Premiere Edition ranks first, with 4 other service products on the list. Apple has six products on it, with Tiger — a two-year old OS — on the ninth position. Microsoft and Dell have four each, and Canon and Nikon, three. Ubuntu 7.04 has made it, and has entered on the 16th position. That makes you think about the kind of ranking process, doesn't it?"

    Once again, I get modded Troll when saying the same thing has others modded insightful. Can there be any doubt that the moderation system does not work?

      "Trolling" is posting in such a way as to illicit angry responses from people on the forum - getting them to "bite". Whether the poster believes what he's posting is irrelevant. The phrasing and intent are what matters.

      As usual, the coward is ignorant.

      When you believe what you're writing, it's called Flamebait. Of course, lately any opinion I express is modded as a Troll, so clearly it isn't about my opinion, but the fact that I have one.

      When you don't believe what you're writing, that is trolling.

      The fact that you don't already know this marks you as a newbie poseur. Those of us who have been around for some time are already aware.

      And if you would bother to read the moderation FAQ, you could see that slashdot indeed officially utilizes these definitions, although again, anyone venerable knows them already.

    Based on the new specification and SoH protocol, users now have an NAP client that is built into Microsoft Windows Vista to communicate with a TNC server. In addition, they can mix and match which NAP tools they want to use -- for example Longhorn Server, when it's released -- in concert with tools offered by TNC, a consortium of NAC vendors offering a variety of tools.

    "It makes it easier for an NAC rollout," Hanna said, noting that many users are on the fence about an NAC deployment because of the uncertainty of future interoperability.

    always include the faucets with the sink. Now listen here, this is what I would do:
    Download the free program SUPER. And it is super. It is from France and there is no
    fee. You put video in and choose what you want to convert to, it crunches away and viola!
    new product in the format you want. Once you have it running, right click and the setup
    menu appears. First make an output folder (on the desktop?) then you must specify the output
    destination, otherwise your converted video, your new file, goes nowhere. You should be able to convert
    your camera file to something that is google/youtube sync friendly. That is the real question,
    What file format is google/youtube audio/video sync friendly? That is your question. SUPER will get
    you there and I use it to convert FLV files taken from google/youtube, usinf the Firefox video downloader extension, and converting these FLV files to good old
    MPEG1 which will play on anything. Slashdot should do an article on SUPER. That is how good it is.
    No fee, works great. Just a super-great product. Unfortunately it only runs on Windoze, that I can tell,
    so I have to dust off my xp loaded Thinkpad 600x whenever I want to use it. Do my conversion and put
    the new file onto my more powerful P4 Thinkpad running Ubuntu, everyday machine. Hey-ya Ubuntu, please
    make SUPER one of the UBUNTU specific programs, it would be a success with many happy campers and
    country cousin fisherman and women using even more Ubuntu. Other than that, life sucks, I'm really tired, and let's eliminate the IRS and replace with the fair tax movement. Take care and good luck and enjoy SUPER.
