Wii to Get New Hardware - Possibly Hard Drive?

HoboBob writes "It has been suggested that Nintendo will be unveiling some new hardware for the Wii at the E3 media festival, and some are speculating that it could be a hard drive. According to the article: 'Confirmation back in April that Neo Geo games will begin being added to Wii's Virtual Console download service adds weight to the speculation, considering Neo Geo games are huge — some clocking in it at up to 330MB. One of those bad boys would put serious strain on the Wii's memory.'"

Never before have I actually gotten bored with a console like I have with the Wii. There have been the inevitable software droughts, but I haven't even turned my Wii on for two months. And I don't really see anything in the pipeline worth buying for months. And I keep seeing the same reactions from other Wii owners all over the net with their "haven't touched the thing in months" stories.

Come on Nintendo, I didn't buy your console to overpay for virtual console stuff and last gen ports with waggle tacked on.

I was going to ask for a Folding@Home Channel, but I realized my Wii doesn't have enough downtime to make good use of it.
Don't worry, there isn't enough CPU power in Wii to make it worthwile anyway.
