cagrin writes "On Tuesday the UN's World Heritage Committee added the Galapagos Islands to the list of sites in danger from environmental threats or overuse. From the article: 'The Galapagos Islands, an Ecuadorian territory situated in the Pacific Ocean some 1,000 kilometers (625 miles) from South America, helped shape Charles Darwin's theory of evolution and in 1978 was the first site placed on UNESCO's World Heritage List.'     are an activist organisation who think any form of violence is justified because they THINK they have the moral high ground. They are nothing other then no science agenda pushing assholes

    The article laments that dogs killed a bunch of iguanas and a bunch of birds died because of tourism and fishing. Surely the birthplace of evolution can yield a dogproof iguana and a carproof bird. There are plenty of birds and who really likes lizards anyway. It's up to the people of the island to decide how to balance it, not you. If you want to save all those lizards, put them in your house.
