A Catalog of Lost PS3 Exclusives
Game|Life has a breakdown of the numerous PlayStation 3 exclusives that might have been. The high cost of making games and Sony's slow start out of the game means that titles like Assassin's Creed and Devil May Cry IV, which may have been exclusive to a Sony console at one point, will now be leading a double life on Microsoft's Xbox 360. "Grand Theft Auto IV -- Peter Moore shocked the world at E3 last May when he announced that GTAIV would appear day-and-date on Xbox 360 and PS3. Months later, Newsweek reported that Take Two had wanted to continue its long-standing practice of giving Sony a lengthy timed exclusivity on the game, but they didn't want it. Newsweek says that former Sony Computer Entertainment president Ken Kutaragi's 'radio silence' on the issue left Sony's American execs without the authority to make deals, and nothing happened. Same with ... Assassin's Creed -- Again, Newsweek revealed that Ubisoft had actually gone to Sony with an offer to make the game a PlayStation 3 exclusive. Although Sony did go through the trouble of asking Ubisoft to make it seem as if their multiplatform action game Assassin's Creed was indeed PS3 exclusive , it came out shortly after E3 that it would ship simultaneously on both platforms."
If you believe that Newsweek crap you are a complete dimwit.
Wake the fuck up dummy.
Is it just me, or is this that same Sony employee who's been posting on every Sony-related story for that past few months?
"Square-Enix has gone on record as choosing to spread out their titles this generation."
Yawn...
Final Fantasy XIII(both games) are PS3 exclusives. End of story.
The fact that SE is branching out to cellphone games is of little relevance. Or that they will crap out one or two token 360 titles that no one wants.
Every single title/IP that led 115+ million gamers to buy PS2s is appearing on the PS3. Except a few token titles like Ace Combat and Katamari perhaps.
Sony's first party development has grown to be the largest and strongest ever. I don't think people have picked up on just how large Sony's first party pool of developers has become over the past six years.
So Sony now has the same insane level of third party support as the PS2 plus an even larger and more diverse first party lineup than Nintendo. Sony is in an even stronger position this gen than they were last.
"When it comes to product wars you do what you have to do to win, if MS gets the leg up on Sony only Sony will be the blame."
Microsoft is selling at a slower rate worldwide than last gen with the Xbox(ignoring the silly 10 million sold PR stunt they tried to pull back in December). 360 owners are in open revolt over the 30 percent failure rate. The Home Entertainment Division is bleeding cash at a faster rate compared to the first Xbox.
Don't be silly, Microsoft isn't getting a leg up on anyone this gen. At the rate Microsoft is selling worldwide right now it is unlikely they will even reach the 24 million installed base the first Xbox before they have to pull the plug on the 360.
Awww, the liddle fanboys are crying!
Poor babies...
"You do realize that commercial slander is a crime, right?"
Obviously it isn't since Major Nelson remains unconvicted.
