Arrest Under New NY Anti-Piracy Law
AxminsterLeuven writes "The BBC is carrying a story on new tightened New York anti-piracy legislation: A man has been arrested, after smuggling video recording equipment into a theater showing the new Transformers movie. 'Kalidou Diallo, 48, has been charged with unauthorized use of a video camera in a cinema. Under upgraded legislation, he could face six months in jail and fines of up to $5,000 (£2,487) if found guilty,' the BBC reports."
stuff like this makes me mad-- not because it is illegal, but for the same reason it makes me mad when:
- people run their LCD monitors at less than native resolution
- people rip to mp3/ogg/wma only to burn it to a cd... that they'll probably end up ripping again
- people save things as jpegs (lossy) only to open them later, make changes, and save again.. and again.. and again..
etc....

Stop listening to Fox Not-News and Rush/O'Reilly/etc.
Your mind looks a little cramped. Why don't you stretch it a little?
You mean you don't EVER go out and do things on your own or with friends anymore??? You don't get time off away from the wife and she doesn't get time out away from you?
Ouch...wow, if this is the way most married people live, I can now see why the divorce rate is so high. I'd go nuts if after I said "I do"...I'd never have any life ever again and have to only see and do things with one other person the rest of my life.
I dunno. I guess it works for some people. I'm more like the friends I have that work around this sort of thing. One friend of mine in particular...he gets out EVERY Friday night to do what he wants away from the house. I often met up with him (pre-Katrina) to ride motorcycles out, goof off...etc. He made this deal when he got married...I guess you have to lay down the rules at the beginning. She is free to get out and run with the girls when she wants...although she doesn't seem to want to do that very often.
But man, I could never see myself cooped up with one other person ALL the freaking time. I'd have kill them....
Light travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.........
