Explosion at Scaled Composites Kills 2, Injures 4
Animats writes "Details are scant at this time, but a explosion at the Scaled Composites rocket test facility has killed two people and seriously injured four more. The Los Angeles Times reports that the explosion was 'ignited by a tank of nitrous oxide.' This is Burt Rutan's facility, and the home of SpaceShip One and Virgin Galactic spacecraft development."
Fuck you asshole. I thought it was funny, and *somebody* has to provide a counterpoint to the insipid "our hearts go out to the families" bullshit.
You be sure and let us know when it's time to use humor.
Thank you for your confirmation that all/most people in the military are idiots. No wonder, how else could they think that signing up is a good idea.
Did you notice that this was a cold-flow test with no munitions, rockets etc. involved? Like the previous poster said: you're an ass. No go look for you haversack.
This space is intentionally staring blankly at you
Exploring space is dangerous.
Dangerous AND pointless. There's nothing for us there. The sooner this madness is stopped, the better. Fortunately, Hillary Clinton will scrap the space programme once elected.
We live in fantastic times.
We live in shitty times. Violence and unemployment are rising. Time to devote resources to social issued instead of funding the pie-in-the-sky dreams of some self-aggrandizing "scientist" who will soon need to apply for a new job as burger flipper.
People in their 20s and 30s will live longer then any earlier humans.
If they don't die of cancer or some other wonderful illness brought about by crappy "science".
There is much less danger on a daily basis then in any other time in human history.
You don't get out much, don't you? When will you stop making up bullshit?
Space is dangerous. Getting there is dangerous.
All the more reasons to stop doing it.
You can mitigate the risk as much as possible.
Or eliminate it by NOT going there at all. Hillary will take care of that, and that's why she gets my vote.
Keep your feet on the ground, kid. That's where you will live. Forget "space" and all that star trek shit. Get a job.
