Science Blogger Sued for Unfavorable Book Review
tigerhawkvok writes "Recently, new author Stuart Privar provided Professor PZ Meyers of Pharyngula a copy of his book, Lifecode, for review. Over the course of the review itself and a few follow-ups, it became evident that the content was nonsense (including, among other things, ten-legged spiders and other phenomena strongly at odds with developmental biology). However, the common threat of lawsuits finally became a reality, and now Privar is suing Myers for $15 million. Can calling someone a 'classic crackpot' in the face of such incorrect data have any chance at making it to court, or even winning the suit?"
I would imagine if you treat your butler like shit and without respect, he will shank you in a dark hallway when you get up for a midnight piss.

So, extending the idea, we should be seeing lawsuits from the following:
Politics is the art of looking for trouble, finding it everywhere, diagnosing it incorrectly and applying the wrong fix.

Professor Myers, who you can see that he is a jew, tries to extort money from the author in exchange for favorable reviews, a common practice of jews in general (business,science,politics,whatever.) When the extortion failed, the professor decide to write a bad review about the book.
Next time read BETWEEN the lines before you guys post comments against any type of plantiff. I know you guys have been messed with RIAA,MPAA or things like that, but that doesn't mean you should have prejudice against anyone who launch a lawsuit.
Remember extortion is a common practice along the jews.

Look at Hollywood. It rewrites history to show Americans in a favorable light. Americans have just got used to the idea that they are somehow the best in the world at everything, and they have got spoiled.
I see America as Cartman - a big fat amoral childish bully. Are you surprised that people in such a country would sue for a bad review?
The professor's last name "Myers" should already tell you about that he is part of "DER EWIGE JUDE".

Thankfully, he has to prove that this review is knowingly false, written with intent to harm, and actually caused harm to prove libel.
He has to prove that:
1) The defendant has to prove that the author is indeed a crackpot. If the guy suing him is a successful businessman, rather than some smelly dirtbag in a dead-end labour job, it's kind of hard to assert that he is. His life demonstrates that he's capable of using reason to achieve success more effectively than his peers.
2) As a private individual rather than a public figure, the plaintiff does not need to prove intent to harm, nor malice, but only a lack of due diligence.
3) Because this case will be tried in NY, there is no burden to prove harm was done, because there are per se defamatory statements, and one of them is
* Allegations or imputations "injurious to another in their trade, business, or profession"
If the writer had stated "This book is nonsense, and can be refuted with the most basic scientific investigation" and left it at that, he would have been fine.
By making the blanket statement that the author is a crackpot, he damages the capacity of the author to make a living.
He could be in very big trouble.

There is way too much undisciplined ad hominem on the internet. I hope the libelous psuedo science reviewer gets his bottom sued off for libel.
Destroying the reputation of those you disagree with is foolish. It is just a matter of time before someone with means properly makes you pay.
We rarely hear the stories of the slander monkey bloggers who properly lost their house and bank account. Learn from Michael Savage. He covers his fanny quite well by adding "my opinion" when he goes for character assassination.
May the reviewer blogger lose his home. Yes!

The basis of the suit are prior posts where the pseudo scientist calls Pivar a crackpot.
Science gets a bad rap by pseudo scientists who use slander in place of reason. Scientific American should be ashamed. If an area knowlege is true science, then there is no disagreement. No need for consensus and no need for name calling.
