Xbox Live Disallows Linux, Unix As Keywords

I have wanted an Xbox 360 since Halo 3 was announced, and, now that I have enough money to get it, I do not think I am getting it just to be denied my First Ammandment rights. Maby Linux wouldn't be so popular if Microsoft didn't horde everything to themselves (DirectX 10 being Vista only, no Linux support for Silverlight, just to name a few). People say the PS3 is not as good as the 360, but guess what: Sony directly supports the open source community, providing an option right in the settings menu to install Linux on the PS3 (I did that on mine). Microsoft seems to be the only people who have a problem with Linux, because they know it will put them out of business, so they want to destroy it like they do everything else that gets in the way of their money.
What the fuck. Are you serious? There are many other things that they don't allow you to use, for example (as mentioned above): you can't use N64 as a tag in Halo 3. Is that part of a Microsoft conspiracy against a system that came out more than 10 years ago?
I imagine it would be pretty hard to be a linux evangelist over all the frat boys yelling "GAY FAG HACKS" anyways.
M$'s great respect for IP extend to user behavior, not their own. It's funny that they would also prevent people from using "Microsoft" too, but your theory of trademark respect would cover that. Try it out with some others like Kleenex or Coke.
An alternate theory is that M$ wants to be the only Xbox spammer. If that's true, the system will flag all brand names in all forms of user speech. When everything is locked down like the Xbox, you must pay toll to the Redmond troll to annoy M$ users.

If it is (and I think it is), then kdawson, you really need to give this up already. You are fast becoming notorious for posting complete non-stories, especially when the subject is Microsoft.
It's an interesting story which can be deflated by geniouses like you if it's wrong. We can imagine kdawson made a good faith effort to find xbox policy, but the documentation is lacking as most from M$ is. Find it and post it right here in the story. What other newspaper gives you that ability? CNN? Ha!
Others are reporting that "Microsoft" is also banned, so the trademark theory might be right. That would make sense from an advertising exclusivity standpoint.

It's filtered because Lunix is a version of an illegal hacker operating system. This would mean that you are hacking the Xbox Live server and this should not be allowed.
