Name Your Favorite Bloat-Free Software
An anonymous reader writes "I prefer software that takes as little hard drive space and RAM as possible. I can't stand bloated software like iTunes, as compared to Foobar or classic Winamp; or Windows Media Player, as compared to VLC or Media Player Classic. What are some of your favorite applications which are a little less bloated?"
Same functionality? Ha!
PKCS#11 support? No (no smartcard, etc)
It doesn't even have built in S/MIME support and you have to use some crappy GPG proxy garbage. S/MIME is the standard not that PGP/GPG shit.
Smart junk filtering? No
Nice GUI? No. Many configuration items in claws don't have a GUI equivalent.
OK, you deserved the upmods, but the moderators don't seem to grasp that you're making a joke. Same thing with the guy just after you who made the same joke about lynx. I'll say it one more time: the current moderator pool is full of clueless dweebs. Rob, bring back the old system!
I know it's a bit crap, but I must confess to quite liking MS Paint for it's simplicity. When all you need is to crop a screendump and save it as a JPG, nothing beats it!
.png, but one terminal command can switch it to .jpg.
Sure it does...
when you're on the right platform that is...
cmd-shift-4
no need for MS Paint, no need for cropping.
The default saves as
Not that Windows noobs would know what a terminal command is.
Flamebait? Troll? Suck it, noobs, and get yourselves a real OS already.
If you don't know what AltaVista is (was), get off my lawn.
MS Paint for screenshots is the wrong tool for the job.
On Mac: Cmd+Shift+3 takes a screenshot to your desktop in PNG format. Cmd+Shift+4 allows you to drag out a zone, which is then similarly dumped to a PNG file. Cmd+Shift+4 then Space allows you to click on any window to take a shot of just that window. Funny shortcuts to remember, but it's MUCH faster that PrntScrn, Open Paint, Paste, Crop, Save As.
