Smarter-than-Human Intelligence & The Singularity Summit

The Singularity refers to the creation of smarter-than-human intelligence beyond which the future becomes unpredictable. The concept of the Singularity sounds more daunting in the form described by statistician I.J Good in 1965: 'Let an ultra-intelligent machine be defined as a machine that can far surpass all the intellectual activities of any man however clever. Since the design of machines is one of these intellectual activities, an ultra-intelligent machine could design even better machines; there would then unquestionably be an 'intelligence explosion,' and the intelligence of man would be left far behind. Thus the first ultra-intelligent machine is the last invention that man need ever make.'"

    Since the design of machines is one of these intellectual activities, an ultra-intelligent machine could design even better machines; there would then unquestionably be an 'intelligence explosion,' and the intelligence of man would be left far behind. Only a person seriously deficient in both maths and common sense would believe this.

    I welcome these new Machines: Because they will be smart enough to hunt down and kill both God and Satan both of whom are making life on this earth a living hell. Then those religious people will have a dead God and the technologist can finally create a peaceful world. Of course we don't need to kill all of the religious people, they will do that all by themselves fighting over their precious version of their God(s). So I find it amusing that the world is now in a religious war. I am just hoping that it will escalate into a global war party, PARTY ON DUDE's. It will be fun watching the Christian vs the Muslims on CNN and the victor of that war wiping out all of the remaining religions. Thus in the end the final religion will be vulnerable and weak and then the technologist can just waste them all. So come on America keep killing Muslims, I find it so amusing. To think with all of your technology, knowledge and power and all you know how to do with it is to kill. You bring peace and freedom by the gun. So amusing.
