ahem writes "I saw a link on Valleywag to a story written by Cory Doctorow about what would happen if Google got in bed with the Dept. of Homeland Security. Chilling, well written, but the ending was a bit anti-climactic for my tastes."

    Google was evil from the first penny they took in. If they truly wanted to be good, they would drop all money making schemes and simply provide their services for the good of the public at large.

    Too bad we can't lock them all up in Second Life and feed them to the furries.

    Oh yes, and call it 'heaven for plastic people' - "He Doctorow received his high school diploma from a free school in Toronto called SEED School, and dropped out of four universities without attaining a degree." (Wikipedia), but "A senior technical official in the Homeland Security Department has a phony Ph.D. from a diploma mill.     Seriously, just how lame and irrelevant DO you have to be to get ignored by Slashdot? Cory Doctorow? I thought Slashdot was my refuge, on the tech blogosphere, away from idiotic, pretentious, know-nothing, wannabe hipsters.
