Washington State LUG to Hold "Nerd Auction"

elrous0 writes "As part of a PR stunt, a Washington Linux user group is holding a "Nerd Auction" and appealing to local sororities to exchange dates and makeover advice for their computer skills and homework assistance. 'The problem is that we're all still nerds. Let's face it, guys. If anyone's going to bid on us, we'll need some spicing up,' writes Washington State Linux Users Group president Ben Ford on the group's website. 'And who better to help with that than sorority girls who like nothing better than a makeover?' So far there has been no comment on how a Linux user group is going to help sorority girls with their Windows machines."

  1. Hot, kinky, females with server problems by Anonymous Coward · · Score: -1, Offtopic

I'm in San Francisco, and know several women who run porno sites.

There's one who's blonde, striking, and runs some major bondage sites. She's been a model (both non-porno and porno), and does bondage photography. She's amused by kink and sex, but serious about money and business. We talk about credit card processing (she's been ripped off by third-party billing services for sizable amounts), server colocation (if you do streaming porno, bandwith cost really matters), and 18 USC 2257 (if you thought DMCA raids were bad, being audited for the age of your models by Justice Department investigators is worse.)

There are others; the Asian fetish model with her own site (it's outsourced, but she's in charge of it), the dominatrix (currently struggling to get online scheduling to work right), and people who work for the Big Bondage Company (trying to make streaming HTDV work).

These are all smart, effective businesswomen. It's not easy for them to meet men who can deal with what they do. While in LA, the porno industry is mostly run by men, in SF, there are some women in charge.

If you want to do server administration and meet hot chicks, jobs are available.
