Coppola Loses All His Data

Colin Smith writes in with an object lesson in backup methodology — once you have backed everything up, take it somewhere else. "Film director Francis Ford Coppola has appealed for the return of his computer backup device following a robbery at his house in Argentina on Wednesday. He told Argentine broadcaster Todo Noticias he had lost 15 years' worth of data, including writing and photographs of his family."

Let me get this straight. He's got FIFTEEN YEAR's worth of data, likely some expert who has transferred his files around for him for each 2 or 3 years that he's been able to find a new computer, and it's only been in these past few year's worth of data emphasized backing-up that he's actually decided to delete all else permanently off of his old media? How fucking stupid is he again?!?!
