FCC Weighs Net Access Charge Decision
An anonymous reader writes "The FCC is considering a request from AT&T to lift restrictions on the types of charges they can level against competitors that use their infrastructure. The organization had previously allowed that for Verizon by virtue of a deadlock, and Ma Bell now hopes to see similar treatment. 'All the requests have been strongly opposed by smaller rivals such as Sprint Nextel, Time Warner Telecommunications and XO Communications. These competitors argue that they have few alternatives to get access to the high-speed lines they need, and are being charged more and more by the dominant carriers.'"
Horrible slogan, mostly because it's completely untrue.
/.er was born, not to mention conveniently-hackable Diebold et al. machines, I'm not even sure why anyone would think that their individual vote would matter even infinitesimally. Especially in the important elections, which aren't even decided by voters, but by the Electoral College.
Belief in individual votes mattering is little better than religious faith, because beyond the very local level, a single vote doesn't amount to squat.

Why can't I see all the articles? This stupid slider widget thingy just keeps moving around by itself like it's following my mouse and I cannot get it to lock in and display all comments threaded and/or nested. Only comments with score of 2 or greater are showing up. Is it possible to select the old UI while browsing as Anonymous?
I am using Firefox 2.0.0.7 and it's not working very well at all with this craptastic new UI.
