Complete Set List for Guitar Hero III
Wowzer writes "Early leaks have revealed the complete 74 numbers set list in Guitar Hero 3: Legends of Rock . Developer Neversoft had hoped to keep the last remaining 14 songs a secret until the American launch of the game on October 28th for PS2, PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii. From the article: 'Tier 1 - Slow Ride (Foghat), Talk Dirty to Me (Poison), Hit Me with Your Best Shot (Pat Benetar), Story of My Life (Social Distortion), Rock and Roll All Nite (Kiss), Sabotage (Beastie Boys). Tier 2 - Mississippi Queen (Mountain), School's Out (Alice Cooper), Sunshine of Your Love (Cream), Barracuda (Heart), Tom Morello's Original Boss Battle Recording, Bulls on Parade (Rage Against The Machine), Reptillia (The Strokes).'"
Good call. Nerds definitely aren't interested in video games. All we do is play chess, do calculus in our heads, and argue the merits of Kirk as the original captain.
Not true. It is plainly clear that Picard is superior.
What I really like about the GHIII set list is the fact that only 19 out of the 70+ song are "as made famous by" with the rest being recordings from the original artist. IMO this is the biggest benefit to this edition over the previous installments which were closer to the other way around. Either Activision has more $$ to pay for the originals, or more artists (read: copyright owners)are realizing that supporting Guitar Hero does wonders for the good will of their fans.
Collector's Edition
I'm not sure why it's only Anonymous Cowards who are pointing this out, but it's an important point that should be seen by everyone. Harmonix didn't invent the rhythm genre. Harmonix didn't even invent the hold-one-or-more-neck-buttons-while-strumming-the-bidirectional-lever guitar rhythm genre. Konami released the first version of Guitar Freaks in 1998.
What sound do people on rollercoasters make? Hint: it's not Xbox 360.
