How Much is Your Right to Vote Worth?

Attila Dimedici writes "Two thirds of the students at NYU would give up their right to vote in the next election for a full scholarship. Some would be satisfied with an ipod. A few would be willing to give up the right for the rest of their lives for one million dollars."

and i wouldnt want to die for the kinds of candidates were getting....usually a local guy who has neem on the city council for years pulled behind an amublance at a nursing home last year, went in to yell at the medics that they were parking terribly....they were parking terribly (ie: in the main drive in front of the building) because there was a 911 call made about someone there and they were there to give him EMERGENCY MEDICAL TREATMENT and take him to the hospital. however, the new mayor implemented a new trial public transportation system for the town because there are *a lot* of people without transportation going to a lot of common places. unfortunately, few took advantage of it, but i think its rather nice that the mayor made it a priority to try and benefit the local residents in need of transportation. maybe id take a punch for a right to vote....im not sure id like to get shot at over it some days.
