The Pirate Bay Facing "Old Fashioned" Pressure
Jety writes "Ars Technica has an article reporting that The Pirate Bay is facing legal pressure from a new front. A wealthy musician with a track record for going head-to-head with record labels and little kids is now joining the queue to take a legal swing at TPB. What I find particularly interesting about this article is the description of the 'camera-toting investigators following [The Pirate Bay admins] around in cars marked with Danish plates.' One TPB admin asks, '"What do they think they can find out by following us around? Everything we do is digital.'"
Thank you, Mr. President.
People on Slashdot or liberals/socialist in general tend to get very bitter and jealous at people who have money, although most around here contribute nothing to society besides being a pest in the Internet world and leading people to turn off their screens going on with their life as usual.
What do you expect from a site with an agenda to promote linux and try to open source every possible aspect of life.
Gotta love how folks around here support all the crap Warez groups of kiddies have been pirating for all the years; in turn they try to change the general definitions of what pirating is and being very naive while playing the game of 'getting the MAN'.
You gotta love people on Slashdot who have no taste of music who usually love techno/electronic crap music and crappy Indie music bands try to act like they know what the consumer wants.
Metallica, KISS, Prince and many others have personally come out against pirates and yet shit gets modded around here +5 Einstein that artist would really want to give their music away for free. Hello to the complete denial and trying to skew the statistics on the recent failure of Radiohead model of distributing music. Consumer just wants to listen to music that is good and 'just works' for them, they don't give a shit about what goes on in the industry or whether their artist is loading up on cocaine.
Nobody likes to hear criticism around here and sometimes its just one big jerk off fest around here.
Let me know when Sweden is done leeching off Americas great culture and come back to me when that country actually starts putting out artist who can make music people will enjoy instead of only coming together just to go after the U.S.; instead Swedes should learn a lesson on how to make good quality music from Americans. Congratulations Sweden you have produced a culture of pale faced downloading frenzy kids who will never be able to make their own music.
The numbers and facts are out there that the world loves Americas culture of music and the music industry is not holding these people back, the only numbers and facts on Slashdot come from mod points and random no-name websites.
And then we can have a little sister collect some more ADAMs!
...And you're full of shit.
Here you go claiming that humankind 'loves to create', yet you advocate stealing those creations and - very ignorantly, I might add - likening yourself to Robin Hood. Get off of your high horse: YOU ARE A THIEF. No, don't hand me an argument stating the definition of stealing, claiming that the property stolen must be physical. Copyright infringement is still stealing, and you know it. If you spent a year of your life creating something and release it to the world, hoping to be compensated for your hard work by appreciative fans and customers, and some pimple-faced geek comes along and 'LOL warez' your work, the very first thought you'd have - as a human - would be: "This is my work, and they're STEALING it."
'Nuff said. I'm not wasting any more time trying to convince you all of the impossible.
