KDE and KOffice Rebuke OOXML, GNOME Dithers

This comes on the heels of GNOME co-founder Miguel de Icaza's depiction of OOXML as a 'superb standard', and GNOME Foundation director Quim Gil's stonewalling of the patent-free Ogg Vorbis / Theora format on behalf of Nokia. Gosh. You guys are a bunch of angry morons. Life isn't about taking your ball and going home. It's about doing deals to gently move the status quo over to your side. Taking your ball and going home isn't going to actually SOLVE anything.

It is a sucky standard. Who cares? Not me. I'd sure rather it work than everybody cry about it.

Actually the way to get a proper KDE desktop in Ubuntu AND Kubuntu is to add the Debian sources to the apt/sources.list, and pull the Debian KDE packages, which unlike Kubuntu hasn't been tampered with and ruined.
