FireWire Spec to Boost Data Speeds to 3.2 Gbps

Stony Stevenson writes "A new set of data transfer specs may reach new Firewire speed records. The new transfer version is called S3200 and builds on the earlier specification approved by the IEEE.' The technology will be able to use existing FireWire 800 cables and connectors while delivering a major boost in performance. The new spec also will let users interconnect various home-networking appliances via coax cable, linking HDTVs with set-top boxes, TVs, and computers in various rooms around a home or office. The new release enables the transmission of FireWire data over distances of more than 100 meters. Home entertainment centers are likely to be an early application.'"

What I learned from Salvia and Jimi Hendrix.
    13/12/2007

An interesting effect of salvia which I always enjoy is that I always seem to get special meaning from the lyrics of songs while I trip.

I haven't smoked salvia in a while, over a month. The last times I smoked it were with 35x salvia.

Then I looked upon myself, waiting for something to happen. I 'realised' I am really fucking important! The awesome statement this thought made beckoned me to question - to what level? Just to myself, to a few other people, to the entire world, or to the entire fucking universe?

Hendrix sang in the background, "castles made of sand, fall in the sea... eventually.". One meaning I have never read from that statement was that there are millions of sandcastles, and when one falls in the sea, another one is made. I am a Computer Science student, there are literally MILLIONS of people just like me, professionally. Although I am one of the best students in my class, a bachelor student has about as much responsibility as a window cleaner, I can always be replaced, eventually.

I love how during salvia trips the smallest and most trivial actions become of the utmost importance. I had to put the lighter down - woooo-fucking-aaaaah! While I was thinking about being completely replaceable, I was forcing myself not to do what everybody else would do. Everybody else would put the lighter down. I could not bring myself to put the lighter down. And then I felt like I had won, I allowed my mind to drift. Then I realised, I must NOT blink, but then I blinked, involuntarily, and at the precise moment (which seemed like an age in of itself) Hendrix sang the last word... "Eventually."

I smirked so hard I couldn't believe it.

This trip has been both spiritual and interesting. I have a lot to think about, although its not even that big a question. I give this trip a very good rating, it was very pleasant.
