Hardy Heron Alpha 4 Released
LarryBoy writes "Ubuntu 8.04 (Hardy Heron) alpha 4 was released Friday and Ars Technica has a look at what's new in the latest builds of Hardy Heron. 'Although many of the significant architectural features like PulseAudio and GIO are still in transitional stages and aren't fully functional yet, Ubuntu 8.04 alpha 4 is still very impressive. I'm a big fan of D-Bus and I'm very pleased to see it being adopted throughout the entire desktop stack in core components.'"
Whenever "Hardy Heron" I immediatly think "Happy Harry Hard-on", so.. like, Rock On!
Insubordinate Ibis
Hardy Heron, that's a good name!
I wonder what's preventing "Ubuntu Hardy Heron" from gaining much ground among serious adults.
Can you imagine being a serious adult and telling another serious adult that your computer runs "Ubuntu Hardy Heron"? Can you imagine trying to convince your boss that you should switch over machines in the workplace to an operating system called "Ubuntu Hardy Heron"?
Maybe someday the FOSS community will realize you need to pick better names than Ubuntu Hardy Heron, gAnything, or Kanything in order to be taken seriously by anyone other than hobbyists and masochists (that's probably you).
