Fifth Cable Cut To Middle East

You may have noticed a number of stories recently about undersea cables getting cut around the world. Apparently the total is now up to 5, but the scariest part of this is that Iran is now offline. You can also read Schneier's comments on this coincidence. Update: 02/06 17:42 GMT by Z : As a commenter notes, though the country of Iran is obviously experiencing some networking difficulties, it is not offline.

Why Mossad is worried about Iranian Internet access is a mystery.

well how about this scenario. Within Iran is a growing population of dissidents or as the left so prefers to call them students. These are dissidents don't want to spend the rest of their lives under Shira Law. Even worse don't want to have their futures controlled by a mad man, who dreams of nothing less than bringing into power the Muslim Messiah, even if it means turning the whole of civilization into a glowing slab of radioactive glass. These dissidents receive encouragement, information and support from outside Iran via the Internet. Who as the most to gain by cutting off the dissidents? Not the United States nor Britain nor any of the other civilized countries of the world. Iran has the most to gain, by isolating itself from humanity. Mockmood what's his name can now better control the people.

Then again this could all be revenge by Cheney, Bush and the United States Industrial Military Complex for not granting Haliburton and Bechtel permission to build the new Iranian nuclear power and bomb manufacturing facilities. If it was about oil then we would have just bombed the shit out of Iran, sent in the 18 - 25 year old children in uniform and taken the oil, to fuel our Ford Excursions and Cadillac Escilades.

I agree with AC we would want more information to flow into Iran not less, and yes you are an idiot. I'll give you odds it's the Iranian's own government.
