FBI Lied To Support Need For PATRIOT Act Expansion

I Don't Believe in Imaginary Property writes "It probably won't surprise you, but in 2005, the FBI manufactured evidence to get the power to issue National Security Letters under the PATRIOT Act. Unlike normal subpoenas, NSLs do not require probable cause and you're never allowed to talk about having received one, leading to a lack of accountability that caused them to be widely abused. The EFF has discovered via FOIA requests that an FBI field agent was forced by superiors to return papers he got via a lawful subpoena, then demand them again via an NSL (which was rejected for being unlawful at the time), and re-file the original subpoena to get them back. This delay in a supposedly critical anti-terror investigation then became a talking point used by FBI Director Robert Mueller when the FBI wanted to justify their need for the power to issue National Security Letters."

It's funny, sad, and ironic how some people seem to think turning our food into ethanol (a very bad fuel btw) is somehow a good idea, as well.

    The real problem.

The Chinese said the west doesn't understand them so here is my attempt.
It was my belief that if I listed to Chinese people long enough I would get a understanding of China. I went online and on You tube.
After extensively talking to Chinese and looking at our understanding of our values I have Identified A problem In china and the west. .

I have spent a lot of time coming to this realization.

The idea of free thought as the Chinese believe is flawed. We should think of thought as free market and properly judge the value of ideas. China does not. The west as yet does not understand themselves well enough to explain it. I am absolutely convinced that this understanding is key.

Free speech will win on battle ground of ideas.

With all of history at our command how can we loose. So How can we loose?

The ability to make change does not lie with the loudest voice, the largest hammer or the most power. The ability enact change lies in having the greatest understanding. The ability to change lies in knowing the weak points in ourselves and the weak points in whatever stands in the way.

If anyone learns about free speech then we have won as we have spread the idea.
Free speech just can not loose.

The question becomes why haven't we won already
The answer is we don't understand ourselves well enough.
We convey the ideas of free speech. Clearly the Ideas get heard though as there is huge instability.

In talking to the Chinese I made some realizations in myself. The Chinese are conditioned to resist ideas of Democracy free speech. I have found that that in talking to Chinese to get to any point of agreement I had to rebuild and understand everything I believe in from the ground up and avoid words that they are programmed against.

Most of the time the arguments they presented where logical. Whenever I got close to something key it seemed that they thew things to get in my way so that is how I in the end could tell I was getting close. The quality of the arguments deteriorated.

I came to the conclusion that China is trying to convince Tibet that Dalai Lama is bad and they are totally convinced he is not. Dalai Lama does not understand the problem.

China does not have in place a proper system to judge the value of ideas. This is where understanding ourselves is the key. We internally formalize a set of values on different ideas. We value the idea of free speech.

Free speech is not just the right to say say anything. It is more then that.Fundamental to Free Speech is a obligation to share our understanding of perceived wrongs. We develop our conscience though the exercise of free speech.Such thought and discourse is a foundation of a social conscience.

Usually we also base our values on sources that come from a higher authority as credible. The higher authority in China has put in place beliefs that corrupt the ideas of free speech. They draw on the paranoia people have of being brainwashed. They believe that if an idea does not come from the source then the person spreading and having the idea is spreading propaganda. What really confused me is that followed my logic and reasoning. When they asked me where I got the quote from I said I built it on my understanding of Sun Tzu. lofoofighters (youtube)
believed that in telling people I wrote this and showing them was prof that I was not engaging in free thought:
" I explained I have gained some understanding for this form Sun Tzu.
lofoofighters proceeded to accuse me of reading books and not thinking for myself."
What I didn't understand is why he would think that it be proof of anything.
It was then that I began to come to the understanding that the problem lies in judgeing the value of ideas.

When I said I didn't understand the idea of free thought and I need someone to explain it they thought I was crazy.
Fundamental to everything they teach the idea of free thought is flawed. The argument is that if people takes Ideas from other pl
