Estonian Cyber Defence Hub Set Up
w1z4rd writes "The BBC reports that seven Nato nations have backed a new cyber defence centre in Estonia, which last year blamed Russia for weeks of attacks on its internet structure. The US will initially send an observer to the project, which will have some 30 staff when fully operational in August."
Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't those attacks eventually turn out to have nothing at all to do with Russia, being instead the work of a single person?
Funny how no-one thought to mention this before diverting large sums of money to setting up the centre.
And it's shameful that the BBC can't be bothered to do basic fact-checking any more.
Why bother with a nation which at state level acknowledges fascism? For all that I care they've got what they've deserved last time, it's got to be a small nation complex playing up and the western media of course picked up the whistle of the big bad russian ddos, pathetic... /i'm not russian btw/
...is the best thing the fascist government of Estonia can come up with. It will be overthrown one way or another anyway. Estonia's apartheid regime is the shame of EU and NATO robbing these organizations of all moral authority on human rights and minority rights issues.
No, I am not Russian.
nonsense this has 0 to do with russian propoganda [or yours truly being a russian propaganda's tool], for 14+ fucking years Estonians glorify once nazi troops - SS Veterans. as far as occupation - well what the fuck was ussr supposed to do when baltic states clearly supported hitler, moreover they are are strategical asset in warfare.
check you history will you - any nation when faced with a threat will launch a strike against enemy sympathizers - did you forget US sending 500.000 japanese into concentration camps after perl harbor - and that was just very fucking democratic wasn't it, and you don;t see too many japanese bitching about it nowdays do you? And don't you fucking forget that it was NOT USA & the allies winning WWII - they just jumped on the bandwagon towards the end of the war, because soviets could pretty much have entire europe at that time if they'd really want to.
Another history check - allies troops once accepted surrender of nazi forces - immediately returned them in command and resupplied them with weapons to ensure that ussr got the message.

as far as i'm concerned - those nazi pigs deserve to be in prison much like the x ussr leadership, much like any other government for that matter. and that ddos was well worth the cause in this sense.
Setting up a cyber-defence HQ in Estonia akin to building a strategic nuclear command-and-control facility in Nagasaki.
Welcome to the Panopticon. Used to be a prison, now it's your home.
