Flying Lab Invites Users To Test New Content In Their Seattle Office
Pirates of the Burning Sea is soon to see a new epic mission, and creator Flying Lab would like you to come visit them to help test it out. The only requirements appear to be the ability to get to their Seattle-based studio on May 29th, June 2nd, or June 6th and already be in possession of a level 50 character. Interested players are being asked to email the usability lab and volunteer for a session.
Less than 2 weeks ago, we had an article for an upcoming patch for this game and the overwhelming consensus was "who cares?"
This seems like more of a ad than news.
People actual play this game long enough to get a level 50 character?
So who's bribing Slashdot to put this stuff on the front page?
No thanks, I'll just torrent it while wearing an eyepatch. Now that's real piracy for ya!
it was calculated that from the current rates that in-game gold was sold, value of a 3 decker is around $7200 in real life.

I really liked the game. The combat was interesting and elegant while crafting was robust without being overbearing. The reason I stopped playing was because the path to leveling was limited to combat and quests. I think I would still be playing if there had been a viable experience-through-trading/crafting mechanism. I don't know if it could have been balanced that way; maybe if they implemented separate levels for trade vs. combat skills.
I've always been curious as to what other people thought of this game.
you would be able to find 'suckers' who would buy it. of course, that is if you could persuade your guild into letting you do that.

Cause if it is, I can't get it to work on a 2004 WinXP laptop, so why would I stop playing WoW to play it?
