Last "Hackers On Planet Earth" Conference In July

NewYorkCountryLawyer writes "The Last H.O.P.E. ('Hackers on Planet Earth') Conference is set for July 18-20, 2008, at the Hotel Pennsylvania in New York City. The organizers have announced their supplemental speaker list, adding on to the initial list. Topics will include 'Crafting a Security-Enhanced Wikipedia,' 'VoIP (in)security: Italians Do It Better,' 'AntiSocial Networking: Vulnerabilities in Social Nets,' 'SWF and the Malware Tragedy,' 'Simulating the Universe on Supercomputers,' and my personal favorite, 'RIAA Litigations: How the Tech Community Can Help.'"

    The only reason this is "The Last HOPE" is because the NYC crew (including one Eric Corley), don't want to take the minimal trouble to move it to another hotel.

    Not because the con doesn't draw. It does. Pretty much every hacker or wannabe hacker who can get there does.

    Not because they don't make money. They do.

    Oh well. At least after this year, we won't have to worry about Emmanuel plying underage hacker wannabes with booze and trying to get them in his room alone and playing "Catholic Priest and Altar Boy".

    WHOOPS! Did I mention the great big *Dark Secret* aloud? SORRY! I'M SORRY! I keep having core dumps of my internal monologue daemon.
