Staying Current In a Small Office Environment?
MyLongNickName writes "Less than a month ago I took a position at a smaller firm (around 50 employees) as an IT Manager. As you might expect from the size of the company, I oversee quite a variety of tasks. I come from a background of computer programming, and am definitely not a master of every function. We rely on third-party solutions providers for areas like our networking, web hosting, phone systems, etc. I am used to working in a larger environment with a large IT staff (and not just because of super sizing at McDonald's). Just the daily rubbing elbows allowed me to stay current in areas that I did not directly touch. And when I had a question, I personally knew someone who could answer my question. I am not in that environment now. How do I stay current? I don't want to be a master of every technology, but I want to be aware of trends in the industry. I want to not depend on one contractor advising me."
Crazy rabbid fanboy cows have been saying Microsoft is a disease that is slowly killing gaming. First, Nintendo is killing gaming, now MS is killing gaming? LOL it's like everytime one of the 3 groups of loyalists get's owned they respond with something like THEY'RE KILLING GAMING. Listen you silly (am I aloud to say stupid?) cows, Sony has been paying Rockstar and Capcom to keep games like GTA and Devil May Cry exclusive on the PSN...so is that evil too? Sony was constricting some great games like San Andreas and DMC to the PS2 and so people with Xbox's or Gamecubes can't get a hold of them. SONY IS TEH CANSERZ. Seriously, MS buying exclusive downloadable content from Rockstar is FAIR GAME because that's how BUSINESS works. So NO MORE of this MICROSOFT IS GOING TO BUY EVERYONE OUT CUZ TEHY ARE TEH RICHZ. Or, MS IS A DISEASE THAT'S KILLING GAMING. No, because Sony's been doing it, Nintendo has been doing it, and MS has been doing it, and finally when it smacks you silly cows in the face you start saying that it's DISPICABLE and EVIL. I didn't see you complaining when Soul Calibur 3 was a PS2 ONLY release. I didn't see MS or Nintendo fans complaining either. SO DONT COMPLAIN. Oh and for the record, Nintendo isn't killing gaming either; they pwn.
