OMG Did U C What U R Paying 4 Texting?

theodp writes "If you thought gas prices were rising too quickly, writes CNET's Marguerite Reardon, check out what's been happening to text messaging. Since 2005, rates to send and receive text messages on all four major carrier networks have doubled from 10 cents to 20 cents per message. If the same pricing was applied on a per-byte basis to a single MP3 song download, it would set you back almost $24,000 according to one estimate. So why are carriers gouging their customers so? Because they can, concludes Reardon."

If you think Dick Cheney pulling George Bush's strings was bad, wait until Nanci Pelosi is making Barack Obama shuck and jive. Hold on to your wallets, folks. Those tax cuts for the rich that the far left keeps harping about - they included a capital gains tax cut. You know, capital gains - what you earn from selling your house or your shares of a company's stock. If you had dreams of funding your retirement by cashing in on your house and moving into some smaller digs, you'd better hope to God that there's a Republican in office. Otherwise you'll just be paying to improve the quality of someone ELSE's lifestyle - someone who didn't work their ass off at your job for 40 years and make wise budget and investment choices.

"Fairly unique"? Is that like "a little bit pregnant?" Unique is a binary operator, it is or it isn't. Things aren't unique to various degrees, look it up.

    Wow, I got Grammar Nazied.

Since you're looking up things, try "colloquial".

Don't forget to castigate people for going to the "ATM machine" while you're at it.
