Makemake Becomes the Newest Dwarf Planet

Kligat writes "The Kuiper belt object formerly known as (136472) 2005 FY9 has been rechristened Makemake and classified as a dwarf planet and plutoid by the International Astronomical Union, according to the United States Geological Survey. The reclassification occurs just a month after the latter category was created. The object was referred to by the team of discoverers by the codename Easterbunny, and the name Makemake comes from the creation deity of Easter Island, in accordance with IAU rules on naming Kuiper belt objects."

    I've been wondering if he's actually looking for attention, or if he's just an angry reader trying to smear slashdot. The douchebag that makes these stupid racist posts usually posts it once on every thread, never to reply again.

    Which leaves me wondering if someone is just waiting for enough of them to be indexed that they can then say "google shows that slashdot is racist" based on how many times they can find the n-word in slashdot pages.

    And if that is the case, then we may never actually see a response from this person, any time that their posts are responded to.
