Scotty's Final Mission
Jane Q. Public writes "According to Ars Technica, the ashes of James Doohan, who played "Scotty" in the original 'Star Trek' series and several movies, were aboard the SpaceX III launch and were lost when the launch vehicle failed." Which totally wouldn't have happened if Scotty was the engineer.

is it time to get real yet? What are you? 11? Here is a life lesson for you: People die every day. His number was up. Either through bad luck or his own screwup, doesn't matter which, it's done and can't be un-done. I don't know the circumstances of his accident, but if he was like many other people in their mid 20's and under the influence of a mind altering substance I'd say his death wasn't tragic, just bad decision making. If the accident was caused by someone else, then I hope either they died too or they are spending many years in prison for murder.
