Medical Consultations With Webcams Extremely Successful
AgaveNectar writes "Doctors are far from being early adopters, so they have just gotten around to publishing a report that webcams help immensely with making the right decision when someone shows up to a rural emergency room suffering from a stroke. Using clot-destroying medications like Alteplase is really risky, and it should only be given in acute cases. In a study of 222 patients, rural ER doctors consulted with faraway stroke specialists. They made the right decision 98 percent of the time when the expert examined the patient with a webcam, and only 82 percent of the time when they just talked to each other on the phone. Perhaps this report will finally convince the medical community that telemedicine is important."
As a doctor can you let your patients dance naked?
The only thing worse than webcamming is webcamming by yourself.
Moderators who would see something funny like that and then mod it down are why I am pro-abortion!
Seriously, what the fuck is wrong with you mods lately? You act like a bunch of stiff, conservative, easily offended whiney little bitches. "Hah, hey what have we here? Is that a flimsy excuse to mod this down? HAHAHAHAHA, take that! God gave me a tiny penis and now you will suffer a negative moderation for it! I sure got that fucker!" Seriously, lighten up. Everything you don't like is not a troll or offtopic or flamebait.
Time to mod me down to negative one now. After you do that, read more comments. See those really good ones? They could have been modded up with the point that you wasted to make yourself feel better by modding me down. Excellent decision-making, sir!
This post really is "Insightful", but it'll never be recognized as such by the mods. It's not an insight about computers or politics or medicine; it's an insight about human nature and the inability of most people to recognize when they are being petty and wasting a scarce resource where it will change nothing. That kind of insight isn't welcome around here.
