First All-Drone USAF Air Wing

bfwebster writes "Strategy Page reports that the United States Air Force has announced its first air wing that will consist entirely of unmanned craft. The 174th Fighter Wing has flown its last manned combat sorties; its F-16s will be entirely replaced by MQ-9 Reapers. Reasons cited include costs (maintenance and fuel) and the drone's ability to stay in the air up to 14 hours, waiting for a target to show itself."

  1. U.S. government is corrupt. by Anonymous Coward · · Score: -1, Offtopic

It's not really primarily about war. It's primarily about profit for weapons investors and those who loan money to countries to make war. Secondarily, of course, weapons investors want all war, all the time.

All wars are started with borrowed money. Those who loan that money make huge, hidden profits. Wars are never started by asking the citizens in advance if they want a war, and are willing to pay for it.

Hiding activities of government requires that citizens not know very much about their government. Citizens of the U.S. know extremely little. There are hundreds of books available about the corruption, but few people read them. Citizens want to believe that their government is taking care of them.

The U.S. government is already fighting a war with Iran. See

There is talk of "diplomacy", but that is only to limit awareness of what the corrupters are doing. There are three groups of people who want war with Iran: weapons investors, oil investors, and Israelis, who want U.S. citizens to pay for security for their country.

The situation is the same as before invading Iraq. There was talk of diplomacy, but the leaders in Iraq knew that the U.S. government would invade, no matter what was said, so they acted in a hysterical fashion.

The purpose of invading Iran seems to be the same as the purpose of invading Iraq: to restrict the supply of oil even further, so that oil prices will rise even further. Weapons investors want continuous war, and an invasion of Iran would almost certainly cause that.

The Bush and Cheney families and friends and associates are oil and weapons investors. Destroying the reputation of the U.S. assures that there will be war, and that's what they want.
