Microsoft Applies For Patent On Private Browsing

PhilDEE writes "Microsoft is in the process of applying for two patents for a private browsing mode in their next version of Internet Explorer — a feature already present in Safari, among other browsers."

    This is just like their tabbed browsing patent.

    M$ Business model: find an unpatented feature in an open source browser. Implement it in IE, then patent it. Sue the pants of the people who dared infringe on it.

    So the "Clear Private Data" menu option in Firefox is too difficult to use or something?

    Guess they should have patented it themselves, shouldn't they?

    Oh wait, Safari doesn't have access to those kind of resources, since they aren't run by some multi-billion dollar tech company. Apple is just a bunch of plucky little guys working out of a garage (granted, they are chained there and not paid overtime, but they are still both plucky and little!!).
