Mickey Mouse On Hit List

Sheikh Muhammad Munajid claims that Mickey Mouse is "one of Satan's soldiers" and makes everything he touches impure. The sheikh said that under Sharia, both household mice and their cartoon counterparts must be killed. The cleric has held off on condemning other Disney characters until he can figure out, "What the hell is Goofy?"

    When I was in Elementary school, I had an argument with a friend about it and actually wrote Disney a letter asking this. About 6 months later (I had long since forgotten), I got the official response and press package, complete with Goofy's biography, actor-style head shots, and a Disneyland brochure.

    The conclusion: Goofy is a dog.

      ...but Pluto is a dog, and he can't speak. He also walks on all four paws.

      I think Sheikh Muhammad Al-Munajid may want to look closer on how Goofy manged to acquire the power of speech. Clearly a case of Satanic intervention.

      I found that strange also, and it was the source of the discussion. I argued that Goofy was a cow, based on the Pluto issue and because of the fact that he dated Clarabelle.

      In retrospect, I guess that breaking down racial boundaries was kinda appropriate, considering it was the 60s.

      I actually remember reading that Goofy was originally named "Dippy Dawg".

      correction: some kind of dog with a learning disorder who used to chew tobacco in the 50's. or hes some mystery barking mouse.

      Reminds me of when Mickey and Minnie were having maritial difficulties.

      Mickey apparently went to his lawyer and ranted for a full hour about Minnie.

      After listening to Mickey's tirade, the lawyer told Mickey "Well, Mr. Mouse, although I certainly sympathize with you, I'm afraid you can't divorce your wife because you think she's a bit odd."

      Mickey replied, "No, I didn't say she was odd, I said she's fucking Goofy!"

    Anybody who wants to physically kill a cartoon mouse really shouldn't be...what's the word...considered sane. Mickey Mouse as satan's soldier? Bah! Articles like this make me happy because I realize that there are people out there who are even weirder than me.

    i apologize for the millionth time for our religious "leaders" they do not really represent what we as muslims think AT ALL. i feel very ashamed and Embarrassed when i read/hear stuff like this.
    they're usually very misled ppl. it prolly happens in all religions. it's just that it's been taken a bit too far this time. i'm completely pro mickey, minnie, pluto, goofy etc...

    Wow, isn't that like mass genocide???

    Take anything out of context and you can make a laughing stock of anyone over anything.

    In typical Islam-bashing media frenzy, no one actually bothered to actually notice he was LAUGHING when he said this (yes, it was a video clip). He was indeed talking about rodents and their disgusting traits, and that in his opinion, using what in normal human nature is considered to be filthy and undesirable, as a wildly popular protagonist in children's cartoons, is not the most appropriate choice. Then he said jokingly, in fact, since Mickey Mouse basically is a rodent, and rodents should be exterminated, that in fact Mickey should be exterminated.

    He LAUGHED while saying it, get it? Doesn't matter whether you like it or not, but presenting this as some kind of scholarly fatwa to search out and behead a cartoon character just reflects the simple-minded blind media stupidity that the average person is ready to consume and regurgitate blindly.

    And of course since it is about Islam or Muslims, hey, it's OK--have a field day. Now if it were about Jews...

    Unfortunately, these so-called Sheikhs should know better than corrupting Islam's (their religion's)image. Epecially for those who are extremely against it(due to some unfortunate events which are also against Islam's own rules, but these rules tend to fail to reach the rivals and the public eye).
    Being raised as a good Catholic made me search for the truth and the origin of everything to determine the right from wrong.
    So we should start reading and comprehending the real Islam rather than focusing on the media.
