Nielsen Sends Wikipedia DMCA Takedown For Station Descriptions
RockMFR writes "A DMCA takedown notice sent by Nielsen Media Research to the Wikimedia Foundation has resulted in the deletion of over 300 pages on the English Wikipedia. The pages were 'templates' and categories that listed television stations within various geographical markets in the United States. Discussion of the deletions has focused on whether this type of information can actually be copyrighted, though the content of the takedown notice have not been made public."
Television has become more annoying lately anyway...

Wow! I heard his mind snap all the way here in Canada.
I may agree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to face the consequences of saying it.
Oh comon, look at Bush's recent 700 billion-dollar bailout... ... Neo-Con's are the new Democrats ... Libertarians are the new Republicans
Democrats and Republicans at that time held many different goals and ideals than their modern counterparts do.
Your post is off-topic and trollish, but I just can't bring myself to let it go. I'm going to assume (hope) you're just poorly informed because you had a public education in Selma, Alabama or something, so I'll provide exercises for you to look up at your leisure.
1) Look up voting records in federal elections for southern states before and after the civil rights movement. Then look up voting records by party for major civil rights bills (particularly the voting rights act of 1965). See if you can come up with some meaning from that.
2) Look up the terms "blue dog" and "boll weevil" as pertaining to politics. Determine if they are disproportionately represented by southern secession states, even today. Determine when the movement started, and, particularly using your answer from (1), why?
3) Correlating your answers from (1) and (2), tell us where the portion of the historical Democratic party who "brought the country to civil war, ruined the economy, inbred and lived in the hills" fall in the current state of American politics.
4) Just for fun, consider the likelihood of a black man succeeding in achieving a Republican nomination in 2012. (Hint: You should arrive at an answer slightly less than the probability that an atheist could be elected.)
Hopefully by this time, you have realized that party values have not shifted. The GOP just got the south because the democrats completely abandoned their values, while the Lincoln-esque Republicans were almost entirely extinct by the twenties. If not, I suggest you perform exercises 1-4 again, this time not using the Heritage Foundation as your main source.
neither parties did what you say.
the british however, managed to start this civil war by boycotting american cotton.

So it's the Brit's fault for stopping slavery? Damn us Limeys!
The British were also the first major trading nation in the history of the world to abolish slavery* and the trading of slaves, but the Yanks and the African diaspora like to keep that one quiet. How can they feel the pain of their ancestors being sent to America from their homeland if they remember that it was largely abetted by Africans?
Your denial of the existence of Lincoln is pretty entertaining though.
*Actually slavery was never abolished in the UK; it was simply ruled to have always been illegal.
